January, January, January.......Pre-Spring

Carven, Isabel, Twinset, Helmut, Haute Hippie, and MIH, have all rolled in recently with their new "pre-spring" looks. Pre-spring? You ask, what season is this.... it's a new name for deliveries in January. Although it's not spring yet and the holidays are over, and most resort going has come to an end we must declare this month a season - the designers thought. SO it is - Pre-Spring. Honestly I have started to fully enjoy these "new" seasons the fashion world has created. First of all, I have always loved resort anything - clothing, bags, and especially SHOES. Goodness, the shoes that come in for resort couldn't be any cuter! Half the time they are booties, boots, and pumps that you would have loved to have in the fall but contemplate buying since you should move forward into spring/summer shoes. BUT sometimes you must just admit that although you may not live in freezing temps like the east coast and most of Europe - you do need them. You WILL wear them next season... right? This leads us to pre-spring as the next new season to lust after. The items that arrive are just a preview for what's to come and they do help with that transitional time of year when let's face you become a little clueless as what to wear...fall...spring.... nope - Pre-Spring.

Fall 2011 words of wisdom....

TREND

I feel as though I wished for a website and my fairy godmother made it happen. Please join me in celebrating Katia's vision for an online boutique. It has been made possible by my sweet, soulful daughter Katie, who without her endless hours of devotion this would have never been accomplished.

With that said, let me guide you easily into Fall of 2011. As many of you close to me know..I am all "about the outfit"... I firmly believe Fringe is Fabulous this season, and my pick would be Isabel Marant suede and leather fringe boots paired with skinny pants and a 3-dimensional knit. I also love staring at a blanket coat in some sort of tribal tribute to the Navajo graphics. You can layer it over tight knit dresses or skinny jeans and booties... And if you don't see sleeves with soft lamb on your favorite tee silhouettes don't buy it... I suggest leather sleeves on blazers, tees or knits and it is such a modern twist to the winter tee!

Anyone who has let me style them also knows how much I love my "neutrals" but this Fall even I am daring to play with some of the primary colors… Just a hint of red will make you feel sexy this season… Royal blue is regal and green is gorgeous.

Supersize your sweaters this season and stick to skinnies on the bottom. ...How great is that!!! I do love "my baggies"…

Pants are also strong. Long, wide-leg and low waist...paired with sheer lace and blazers turns those masculine pieces instantly girly…yes it's a man's world….

Leather pants… ankle length or long and flared are shown in beautiful shades of burgundy, sand, and of course… black. I have a feeling my black leather ankle pants will be a uniform. The capecoat can cover you up when it's cold outside. Think autumn colors for your jeans and for the girl who wants to rock a new trend, I suggest coated "leather like" denim from j brand or plein Sud.

I am all over the pointy toe returning to our soles… enough to make me put my stilettos back on… and ankle boots I love!!

Felt hats with feather details…What can I say… Furry pieces are beautiful and even more glamorous this season. Lovin' the leopard in accessories...

And beautiful Shearling bombers blast the chill… Beyond beautiful are the boots with fur detail…Lovvveee

As always my motto is to "take a trend and make it your own" because after all that's what keeps fashion fun!

...and remember to stay beautiful on the inside and don't take it too seriously.
Love Katia
